Petunia double cascade mix

Love at first sight. That was how to describe my feelings when i go through the catalogue for trailing petunia. I sow the seeds when the sky was overcast during the monsoon season. Usually it is like  late spring / early summer weather  but this time it rains for six weeks with few hours interval. The germination rate was 70%, however only 2 seedlings survive from damping off. Three days ago, it show off its first bloom, 2 flowers today. The flower is huge, 10cm and look like carnation.

At 8 o’clock tonight i went out to admire the flower, couldn’t believe that it is full moon already.

Special harvest: gladiolus corm and cormels

 I should write about the veggie that i harvest but i cannot resist writing about my special harvest. I plant this gladiolus successively since May 2012 and been harvesting the corm and cormels since Okt 2012. In the tropic, gladiolus does not go dormant.  Today i dig out all the corms. Next week I’ll plant more corms that i dug out earlier.

Garlic Vines

My garlic vine is flowering for a second time since i planted it a year ago. It flowers 3 months ago but i only realise it when it was already wilted. It is a gift from my friend whom gave me 2 cutting.  I love seeing it progress from flower bud to its full bloom.

Today my curiosity gets the better of me; i smell the flower. Surprisingly it is sweet smelling with occasional garlic accent. Hmm, interesting!
