Eucrosia bicolor

Peruvian lily is grown for its evergreen leaves as well as its beautiful red flower.
It also divides very fast by bulbing. It needs dormant period in order to flower. To imitate dormant period
i'll stop watering it, wait until all the leaves turn brown and the plant died. Then wait for another for 2 months before resuming watering.Tthe flower stalk will appear first followed by green leaves.

Tesco Thyme Vs German winter thyme

I tried to grow thyme from Tesco- bought cuttings many times and i failed each time, last month i read that other blogger ( my mix garden) had successfully grown thyme from cutting, also bought at Tesco. 2 weeks ago i saw fresh cutting, bought and plant it. Only 5 survive out of so many cutting. Today i potted it from the seed tray and use the seed tray for my German winter thyme. It has good root ball, hopefully most will make it to flowering stage

Pomegranate

I’ll move to a house with a bigger yard at the end of the year. As a preparation i started sowing seeds of the plant that i want to have in my new home since mid 2011. I'm so surprised that this pomegranate  is already fruiting. It is only 2 years old! It is still in a polybeg and i think the root is deep in to the ground now. It has so many flowers but only 6 were pollinated. In my area there are so many fruit flies that fruit flies bait doesn't seem effective. An extra measure has to be taken to protect my precious fruit.

Lemon basil

This lemon basil is grown by and for my father. It’s been in my garden for ages, i tolerate it because its white flower attract good insects. The taste is very strong, nobody like it except my father. It self seeded readily, just plant it once and you'll have it forever.

Fig

It’s been so awhile since i wrote anything on my blog; i was indisposed due to multiple health problems. When i am down there is always something to cheer me up. Two weeks ago i ordered figs cutting online, today i receive it, it made up for my lousy day and i am very relieved since it passed through the inspection. All this cutting set me back for RM 500. Sometimes i guess we can buy a little cheer. If everything goes according to plan, I’ll have fig seedlings in a few months time.
