Progress of Kelvin Floodlight

It is a type of decorative dahlia which has a size of a dinner plate.

                                       This is the sprouting tubers. 

                                         A small bud of Kelvin Floodlight.

                            Finally the bud unfurl into a beautiful bloom.

          The bloom is only 15 cm instead and the colour is less intense. 
           Maybe next time I’ll be luckier

Gladiolus makes a good cutflower too. This is one of my not so successful experiments.  Out of 160 corms, 1/3 was damaged by corm rot.  I have to buy more corms next year.

Cut flower

What should i plant in my cutting garden?  Goldenrod makes a beautiful cut flower with a long vase life (about 2 weeks). It is easy to grow and i’m the only pest that is attracted to it. 

Let us see what other yellow flower will make his home in my cutting garden.

                                  Cosmos sulphureus limara lemon 

                                   and a stately sunflower.
